Best Care Home
BestCareHome is the most detailed database of English care homes on the web. The database includes extracts from government inspection reports as well as information supplied by care homes, offering more detail than any other directory of care homes. The project is built using CakePHP framework.
The inspection reports (pdf) provided by Care Quality Commission (CQC) are extracted and analyzed by the system to gather important information related to the care home including rating provided by CQC. A custom scoring algorithm was written to give a quality index to each care home based on their performance over the last several years.
The best feature of BestCareHome is its powerful search engine. The results can be filtered using a lot of criteria including type of care needs, geographic location, star rating, price etc.. User can compare different care homes and add them to their watchlist as well so as to receive timely notifications of new inspection reports for the watched houses.
