About

Some Walls is a curatorial and writing art project in a private home in Oakland, California directed by artist and writer Chris Ashley, who also blogs HTML drawings at Look, See.

Four to six solo exhibitions take place annually, are accompanied by an essay, and are documented at somewalls.com. Solo exhibitions feature small groups of recent work by established artists, sometimes made specifically for this context. The project aims to be international in focus.

Some Walls does not encourage unsolicited submissions of artist work; this means that while we are always interested in learning about new artists and art, the project’s program and process is well-defined, and inquiries may not be answered.

Some Walls is open by appointment only. For more information contact Chris Ashley at info@somewalls.com.

In The Emergence of Dual Sites, Brad Troemel writes about exhibition spaces that are "symptomatic of The Physical and The Digital’s co-mingling– an example of how art, like life itself, now exists somewhere between the two."
