Communications Infrastructure for NATO Protests May 19, 20, 21 2012

Join the March Hare Solution - a free, public, map-based, crowd-sourced, broadcasting application that enables you to get and share information about what is happening on the streets. Receive verified reports filtered to your interests by location and category via text message, android or iphone application, from your cel.ly cell, or via the web. Call in reports to a operator at 1-(773)-382-8798, text them to 1-216-586-6431, or email them to reports@march-hare.org.

Registering for text message, email, or cel.ly alerts: Go to bit.ly/Jr7Wll (ops.march-hare.org/messaging). Select the area (either by defined re- gion (propose new sectors here: ops.march-hare.org/sectors), or by radius from a point, then se- lect the categories of interest, then enter your email or text message capable phone (be sure to include the preceding 1 i.e. 12123334444), or check RSS for cel.ly.

If you entered an email you will receive a confirmation code that you need to copy and paste into the next screen. If you entered a text message capable phone you will receive a confirmation code in a SMS that you need to type in the next screen. Using the iOS app The iOS app is currently in the process of being approved by apple. Assuming that it gets approved it will be available in the iTunes store avail-able for free download by the 18th. It can be found by searching "NATO/G8 Chicago 2012". After you download it you will want to update the settings for the action domain to "nato.march-hare.org".

Using the android app The Android app has been released already but has one outstanding bug that will be fixed before the 19th. It can be found by searching google play for "NATO G8 2012". After you download it you will want to update the settings for the action domain to "nato.march-hare.org".

Using the web This interface will be available via a web browser at nato.march-hare.org.

Reporting from the street Reports can be called in to March-Hare operators directly at 1-(773)-382-8797, can be texted to 1(216)-586-6431, emailed to reports@march-hare.org, or submitted via the web at nato.march-hare.org/reports.
