HaBitza

HaBitza.com is the place to talk about dating for marriage. Which is, btw, oh so different than dating for dating.

The day that someone realizes they are looking for a “serious” “long-term” relationship, instead of just the next fling, their dating experience changes. The change in focus brings up a lot of uncharted territories. Here we discuss all those territories (some provinces too).

Please be brave and take part in the discussion by commenting on the articles.

The blog photo/icon of a frog that you’ll often see around the site is by Faye Pini at flickr.

The people involved

HaBitza was founded by Vera Resnick and Deena Levenstein. It is now run and filled with all its lovely content by Deena. But if you go back a few months you’ll see that Vera has lots of material here. Check it out!

Deena Levenstein

spacer I am a Torontonian-Jerusalemite-Vancouverite-Jerusalemite. I’m from a Jewish Orthodox home and am “less” religious than my very entertaining fam (you wish you could be part of the sibling emails that go back and forth between us every day).

Why should you read me? Because people say things to me like: “You love yourself. I can tell because you really stick to your boundaries.” I am very principled when it comes to my dealings with people, especially in dating. At the same time, I have a very hard time with dating. I find it emotionally draining, always hoping that the right guy will come along and then dealing with the disappointment on the one hand and the questioning of self on the other hand.

On this site I discuss very openly my thoughts and feelings regarding all the topics around dating for marriage, from dating etiquette to dating philosophy.

I hope that HaBitza makes dating for marriage as pleasant as possible for all its readers.

Oh, what do I do for a living? I work at illuminea as the business development manager.

HaBitza would not exist in any shape or form if it weren’t for Vera who was an integral part of HaBitza during its first year. She’s a Classical Homeopath who felt very strongly she wanted to try to help the singles community in some way especially after she was part of the singles community for many years before she got married. You can read more about her on her blog, Jerusalem Homeopathy.
