The Thirst Project has become part of the cultural fabric of Los Angeles by creating public indoor and outdoor exhibitions around the city. By collaborating with venue partners, we raise awareness about the water crisis and create destinations for visitors in the community to share in the process of learning about this issue. Each local exhibition is designed to employ creative, highly-tactile elements that take visitors on a journey through the story of the water crisis and strategically navigates them to a powerful and realistic call to action that can raise the funds and resources necessary to make a tangible, radical and sustainable global impact.

Events

Our parties always have a purpose. Hundreds of events and parties take place every day in Los Angeles and around the world. The Thirst Project Launch Party on May 22, 2008 at Lola’s Restaurant in West Hollywood, California, marked the beginning of a series of events that have brought a real reason to celebrate to thousands of people as life and hope are restored. Life is full of reasons to celebrate. How will you party?

Thirst for Education

The Thirst Project leads its initiatives with a powerful Education Outreach program. Under the belief that the rising generation is the strongest solution to this problem, our vehicle for mobilizing is this education initiative. The two components of this program are On-Campus Events and Speaking Engagements, and Hard-Copy Supplemental Curriculum.

The events range from assemblies to rallies and fundraisers. They are strategically designed to weave potent tactile, sensory and creative elements through video and speaking with tangible calls to action that equip and empower youth to make a difference.

The curriculum is geared toward high school students, presenting global water resource informational objectives with regional project and activity focuses. The more specific activities and projects that accompany the global focus then narrow the field to regional nations’ and communities’ needs. These create opportunities for practical projects that students can engage in to learn and provide aid to other students in specific developing nations.

Once any school raises enough funds to rehabilitate or fund a new well, The Thirst Project will pair those funds with a school in a developing nation so that students domestically are impacting the lives of their youth counterparts globally. We can close the gap by proving it with photos and videos linked to GPS coordinates and live SkypeTM sessions through our partnership with The Glue Network once the project is complete.

KNOW THIRST

Most of us have never known what it is like to really be thirsty. All we have to do is open a bottle or turn on the tap. Even our homeless in America can get clean drinking water and have toilets to use. Our KNOW THIRST service project trips provide those individuals who desire to go beyond simply giving financially with opportunities to travel outside our world and into the lives of those we’re working to save. These trips are designed to radically impact the lives of both the served and the server by breaking down barriers and making it personal. These trips offer firsthand experience with the reality of the need. KNOW THIRST targets other needs within the impoverished communities we’re serving with our water efforts to extend building and home repair help, medical relief and work with children and the elderly. By intentionally creating opportunities for these two worlds to collide, we can not only change the lives of those directly involved, but create ambassadors of the need through firsthand encounters that prove powerful testaments of the work we do and the need for sustainable progress as we continue to work to eradicate thirst. Once you really know thirst, then you can help make it so there is NO THIRST.
