Annapolis, MD Farr 30 North American's: The wrap up!  Annapolis does as Annapolis wants and you never know what she will deliver. Nevertheless, the sixteen teams competing in the Farr 30 Class were thrilled.  It’s been a long time since we have seen so many Farr 30’s on the line for a race in North America which also included Swedish team The End, owned by Richard Goransson of Stockholm. It was truly a sight to behold and one we believe will be repeated!

Days one and two were chronicled in brief on our Facebook page, here, the rest of the story.  Day threes racing got underway right on time in light and fickle winds. Two races were sailed on Sunday to complete the series. The last race, in a very nerve wracking three to four knots. Deneen Demourkas and Groovederci entered the day holding 1st with six points, William Markel of the Buffalo Yacht Club on Standard Deviation having a great regatta, sitting 2nd with ten points and in 3rd, Cole Allsopp of Annapolis sailing Moxi, with fifteen points. Race number four saw leaders Groovederci have a shocking start was left dipping the fleet on port and headed out on her own to the right. Newcomer to the class but certainly not to racing, Kevin McNeil of Annapolis, sailing Nightshift, lead from start to finish to take the bullet. Close behind in 2nd was Nate Tower of Baltimore on Gotcha, followed by Standard Deviation in third. Groovederci managed to climb back and finish 8th but the door was wide open. In the fifth and final race of the series, the winds had started to diminish and the breeze on the course was looking very streaky. This time Groovederci managed to get of the line with the best of them and quickly sailed into the lead, never letting up for the five leg course, clinching the North American title for the fourth time. Class veteran Jeff Maludy of Michigan sailing Adrenalin got his dose and took 2nd while Kevin McNeil took 3rd in the race and the series.  Cole Allsopp and Moxie, sailing consistently in the series finished 4th to take 2nd.
