Hi, I’m Brad. I’m a software engineer living in Austin, Texas. I work with mostly web-related products, specializing in UI & server-side development and software architecture. I prefer working with Ruby, JavaScript and other lithe, powerful tools.

I’m also a pedant, a libertarian, an atheist, a nudist and an amateur economist. Many of my views differ from the mainstream, but all are grounded in a simple set of rules that most everyone can appreciate.

I write medium-format essays here on topics ranging from software quality to political economy and the philosophy of consciousness to the particulars of the English language. My goal is to add to readers’ intellectual repertoires and to encourage eccentric and fruitful thought patterns and viewpoints on a wide variety of common and uncommon topics.

I link and blog with some frequency at iampedantic.com, I publish intermittent morsels on Twitter, I often share interesting news on Google Reader and I interact with my peers on Facebook. You can send me an email when you have questions or comments.
