Designing a website is like designing someone’s wedding dress while they are wearing it and walking around!

Around Denton: An Evening With Tennessee Williams
Local enthusiasts looking for a bit of culture and fun this weekend should check out Denton Community Theatre’s production of An Evening With Tennessee Williams.
Actually a series of 3 short one-acts, this will be only the second show to be staged at the brand new Black Box Performing Arts Center.
A black box theatre in both name and function, the venue will provide intimate staging for three of William’s lesser known works. With content ranging from 13 year old orphans during the depression, to down on their luck denizens of the French quarter, the shows promise to engage audiences with the words of what many call the greatest American playwright of the 20th century.
The show runs April 8-10, 2011, with curtain at 8pm on Friday/Saturday and 2pm on Sunday. General admission is $10 dollars.

If Youth Can Post Its Facebook Status, Age Can, Too
This is a fun story about how social media is bridging the generation gap, and the education involved therein.

Social Media Done Right: Denton PD Twitters Up a Storm of Justice
The Denton PD has impressed us with their incredible display of social media. For nine hours last week (8am-5pm), the Denton Police Department used Twitter to broadcast every single call officers were dispatched over.
While social media is often about trying something new, this was all about something old, traditional. We often don’t think about what the police do on a day to day basis, but it was hard to ignore on March 24th. The attending officer also made a show of answering a great number of questions addressed to the department, all the while protecting the identities of parties involved.
Questions ranged from “Is that near my house?” to “What situation should I call 911 instead of the police?” The answers were candid, and I personally walked away with a new perspective on the 8-5 lifestyle of Denton PD.
While I’m not sure my Twitter feed could handle this on a daily basis, we applaud the efforts of the team involved. Though, I wonder if they would consider an at night twitter roll…
—- The Denton Police Department can be followed on Twitter, liked on Facebook, but you should probably just call them if you have an emergency.
