Dave Caolo summed up quite nicely the things that I don't like about Photo Stream, and has a quite excellent alternative that I'm going to try for the next little while.
In the meantime, I've also nuked my Photo Stream, since I have so much garbage on it. Any way to put the photos that I do want there back?
Thanks to @512px for the link.
I'm a bit of a vinyl decal fanatic. I have several on the back windshield of my car, and they're pretty awesome. This morning, I had the crazy idea that I needed an Aperture Science logo to go on my laptop, next to the Half-Life 2 logo, and probably one for the back of my car as well.
I scoured the web for a logo in SVG format that I could plug in to a vinyl cutter, but I couldn't find any with the text, just one from Wikipedia with the aperture logo. Hmmph.
No matter, I could just try and font match it. Then I remembered that Gabe Newell just loves to have email conversations with his company's loyal fans, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
I'd emailed him a few times before, and it's usually taken him about 24 hours to respond, so I figured I'd be in for a bit of a wait.
About 15 minutes ago, a mere 4 hours later, I got an email response from Quintin Doroquez, a Valve employee. "Awww," I thought, certain that I needed to fill out a license form for use of the logo and what-not in order for them to release it to me.
Nah.
I got this, along with a bona-fide SVG attachment of both Aperture Science and Aperture Laboratories' logos, and Photoshop PDFs of the same, ready for me to do as I please.
This is why I will forever be a loyal Valve customer.
UPDATE: A couple of people have asked for the SVGs, so here you go. :)
