Not One of Us is a hardcopy zine about people (or things) out of place in their surroundings, outsiders, social misfits, aliens in the sf sense—anyone excluded from society for whatever the reason. We want to explore “otherness” from every possible angle.
We’ll use this website to announce new issues as they come out, present examples of stories and poems that have appeared in past issues, and make available longer versions of interviews published in Not One of Us. We’ll also share some of our own sometimes serious, sometimes goofy perspectives, including occasional lists of things appropriate to our theme. Plus we’ll have links to market listings, websites of frequent contributors and places where they have been published, and some of our favorite bands.

HONORS FOR 2010 CONTRIBUTORS TO NOT ONE OF US
Contributors to Not One of Us received a number of honors this past year.
Two stories (“Scairt,” by Alison J. Littlewood, and “To Catch a Star,” by Tim L. Williams) and one poem (Jennifer Crow’s “Thirteen Paper Ghosts”) from Not One of Us #43 were honorable mentions in The Best Horror of the Year (BHY, edited by Ellen Datlow). In addition, one story (“The Shadow Traders,” by Patricia Russo) was an honorable mention in The Year’s Best Science Fiction and Fantasy (edited by Rich Horton).
Sonya Taaffe’s poem “The Earth in Those Days” from Not One of Us #44 was an honorable mention in BHY and was nominated for a Rhysling Award.
One poem (Wade German’s “The Propagule”) from a collection we published last year called Hidden was honorably mentioned in BHY. Another poem (Sonya Taaffe’s “Anakatabasis”) from that publication was nominated for a Rhysling Award.

TWO COLLECTIONS BY SONYA TAAFFE (2005)
Postcards from the Province of Hyphens, a collection of poetry with occasional short fiction, was published in April 2005. Prime Books has also published Singing Innocence and Experience, a collection of Sonya’s short fiction with occasional poetry. Both collections contain lots of stuff first published in Not One of Us.
