The DIY Centerpiece - Faking Some Milk Glass!

I was faced with a dilemma today. My decorating budget for the week is at zero, and without a creative outlet, I am slowly dying inside.

Okay, I'm being dramatic. But still, this girl needed to create something today. For free.

And I did. Behold, my DIY centerpiece!!!

Let me back up a bit and explain myself. I've been really diggin' some milk glass lately, but after seeing the price of it at the antique store over vacation, I got to thinking I could probably create a similar look with spray paint.

Here is my inspiration:

(P.S. Obviously the real thing is much prettier, but remember...I'm just bored today and trying to make something for free out of junk I already have....continue on....)

So...

I raided my supply closet where I hoard my paint cans, sandpaper, and headband collection (kidding...I hate headbands...my head is the size of a watermelon, and frankly, headbands make me grumpy.) and I found a few CHOTSKIES.

(I looked up 'chotskies' trying to determine the spelling, and promptly landed on Urban Dictionary, which defines this term as 'generally useless crap of little or no value'.)

Yep, pretty much sums it up. I'll let you be the judge...
