08-05-2012. Just checked and found out that the 750th recordist joined in november 2011, and there's 840 of us now! No wonder we're behind welcoming you all. Hans Slabbekoorn was the latest new recordist yesterday, with a small set from Cameroon. Hopefully there is more in store from there!

27-04-2012. unique occasion for XC: back-to-back contributions from Belgium and Ireland, by Franck Hidvegi & Morgan Williams respectively. Keep it up because Ireland and Belgium are both really underrepresented.

27-04-2012. some cool XC numbers are up for grabs in the next few days: XC99999, XC100000, XC100001. The XC numbers are slightly higher than the number of recordings mainly because of problems with some large sets of recordings in the early days. These were re-uploaded with other numbers.

Recently Bowie et al. published a long awaited split of Mrs. Moreau's Warbler (Winifred's Warbler) Scepomycter(Bathmocercus) winifredae: Rubeho Warbler Scepomycter rubehoensis. This cryptic, threatened, Tanzanian endemic occurs in the Rubeho–Ukaguru Mts.
XC holds two recordings of Mrs. Moreau's Warbler.
