Jonathan Adler has added some new toys to his always fabulous roundup of home decor, but these aren’t designed by Adler, they are actually the brainchild of architect Sindy Posso and several Mayan artists.

These “Twoolies” combine modern and ancestral native designs with a mix of colors, textures and patterns. The toys are handmade by skillful Tzotzil weavers using natural wool knitted in manual looms.

The Owl, Kangaroo, Lion and Quetzal are available to purchase through Jonathan Adler from $40.00-$44.00

It’s Bath Time, Baby! ~ 5 Products That Add Even More Fun To Bath Time

by Nadia Carriere on May 23, 2012

My son is currently at the age where bath time is the best time in the world. He opens his chubby little hands up and hits the water palms down making the biggest splashes he can while giggling in the midst of it, completely oblivious to whether or not he gets water in his eyes. There is an absolute look of wonder in his face every time he gets in that tub, which makes me incredibly happy and yet melencholy at the same time as I know that these magical moments won’t be around much longer.

Kids Camping Lights ~ The Perfect Two-in-One Solution From Haba

by Heidi Oran on May 23, 2012

I came across this clever little product and had to share it, especially with camping season just beginning and everyone going through their gear,  making sure they have everything to hit the wilderness. The Terra Kids Camping Light is the perfect accompaniment for any child that loves camping and the exploration that comes with it.

The reason I love this product so much, is two-fold. First, it is one of the few products on the market that does not use batteries. Anyone that has a child that has gone through a flash-light and fort phase knows how frustrating a kid can become when the flashlight stops working. And I am sure many parents can relate when they end up at Costco stocking up on batteries.

Equipped with and On/Off button, the Camping Light also features a crank that, when used will generate electricity and charge up the 5 LED light. 3 minutes of cranking provides you with up to an hour of light!

The second reason I love this light is because of the built in compass on top. Kids love compasses, though sometimes they aren’t quite sure how to work them. This will save you having two products as everything is all wrapped into one.

Yesterday, WestJet announced details on their brand new unaccompanied minor program, which provides a special service for kids who are traveling alone without a parent or guardian.

For a fee of $100 per child, per flight, your child will remain in the care of WestJetters from the time they board the aircraft until they are met by a parent or guardian on arrival. As part of the program, unaccompanied minors will receive a set of regular earbuds on flights with live seatback television and on routes with buy-on-board service, children will also receive a free sandwich or other buy-on-board items.

WestJet will accept unaccompanied minors on WestJet-operated domestic flights that are non-stop or flights that do not require a change of aircraft. This service is not available on connecting flights, flights operated by code-share or interline partners or on WestJet Vacations and WestJet Vacations Group bookings.

WestJet’s guardian fare program, which allows a guardian to accompany a child on their flight, will remain available for booking and can be used for flights that do not qualify under the unaccompanied minor program.

The program is required for children between the ages of eight and 11 and optional for children ages 12 to 17. Restrictions apply to a child’s eligibility and full details can be found at westjet.com/childrenstravelprogram.

What do you think of this new service? Would you use it?

by Ciaran Blumenfeld on May 22, 2012

After watching The Avengers, my sons got into a heated debate about which Super Hero they would be. It was settled that Iron Man was probably the coolest but you can’t have two Iron Mans so someone had to be Thor.

Off they ran into a world of their own imagining, kicking bad guys, flying over buildings, beating back the alien invaders.

Their playtime just got a little better, with  Marvel shoes from Stride Rite. I could not help but shoot a little video:
