Join all of us for the reception, tonight Thursday Nov. 17th from 7 PM to 9 PM, the prints will be on display until January 6th

Come out and see what happens when 2×3” is just big enough for mini-masterpieces from printers near and far.

After initially printing some business cards for this talented acupuncturist, Grant Sutton gave us free reign to design and print some ‘old world’ postcards for his ‘old world’ practice.

We were thrilled about the opportunity. Grant Sutton Acupuncture’s postcards were designed printed using Warm Grey 9U and PMS199 inks on 140lb Muscletone.

Grant Sutton Acupunture is based here in downtown Portland, Oregon. To get more info about his practice go here.

Making Faces: Metal Type in the 21st Century

On October 24, 2011

……………………………………………………………………………………………..

Making Faces: Metal Type in the 21st Century , a film by Richard Kegler documenting the lost art of pantographic type making will be shown at the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, Oregon, with a Q & A session with the filmmaker after each showing. The 45 minute film details the working process of the late Jim Rimmer as he designs and casts the font Stern, the only type font ever to have been released in both electronic and metal versions simultaneously. The font is a commemoration of the fine printer and type caster C. Christopher Stern, of Sedro-Woolley, Washington,

The showing is a fundraiser for the C.C. Stern Type Foundry, a non-profit working museum of type casting in Portland, Oregon. (www.ccsterntype.org)

October 29th, 2011 / Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, Oregon

Tickets: $8.00 at the door
Screenings at 7pm (Doors open at 6:30) and 9pm (doors at 8:30)
Refreshments will be served

Daniel Cronin Photography

Daniel Cronin’s photography can speak for itself. But, if given the opportunity, we would add that his photos are provocative, poignant and in some cases, mystifying. Upon meeting Daniel, it was clear that this well travelled yet unassuming photographer lives behind his camera. When we saw the design for his card (a shutter, part way open) implying a photo eternally being taken, we couldn’t help but get into the project. We were looking forward to printing the simple and refined card, but even more so, we were stoked to have a reason to use the paper drill.

Daniel Cronin’s Cards were printed on two sides using dense black ink on a 140lb Muscletone Paper. You can see more of his work here.

Lauren Henkin

Every now and again, tradition and technology collide, conjuring up dreams of what the future has in store for us.  Enter the QR code of which we don’t understand nor will we won’t try to explain, except that in our relief printing process, it totally works! Enter the age of “smart phone meets smart printing.“

Lauren Henkin, a local prolific Portland photographer, presented us with the mentioned technological challenge.  Lauren had recorded an audio tour for her recent show at New Space, a quick scan of the QR code on the pricelist brought insight and embellishment to the viewer’s experience.  Thank you Lauren we wouldn’t of tried this on our own.

“Born in Washington, D.C. in 1974, award-winning, internationally shown photographer Lauren Henkin grew up in Maryland, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and now resides in Portland, Oregon.

Henkin is a private educator, reviewer, frequent speaker, Photolucida board member, author of two books, and active member in the photographic community.  Her work is widely collected by private collectors as well as institutions such as Southeast Museum of Photography, Beinecke Library, Yale University and Baker-Berry Library at Dartmouth College. Her work has been published in numerous journals on photography and the book arts including Light Leaks, Shots Magazine, Black+White Magazine, Diffusion Magazine, Flak Photo, Urbanautica, Landscape Stories, Parenthesis and The Washington Post. She is a Px3 multi-cateogry winner, Oregon Regional Arts & Culture Council grant winner, with other award nominations in both the 2010 Brink Emerging Artist and Contemporary Northwest Art Awards.  In addition, she founded Photo Radio, an online audio program presenting interviews with curators, gallerists, artists, publishers, educators and other industry professionals.”   -Quoted from newspacephoto.org

You can listen to Lauren’s Audio tour of her exhibition at Newspace HERE.

Newspace Center for Photography will be exhibiting new photographs titled Growthby Lauren Henkin.  Lauren will also be showing images from three other bodies of work titled Remnants, Fieldnotes and The Lines Between Us, September 2nd through October 2nd.

We at KeeganMeegan & Co are not your typical wedding stationers, and we are proud to say so.  Every single wedding suite we’ve designed, illustrated, and printed has been a true snapshot of our beloved clients’ loves & life. As you can see here with Steph & Steve’s wedding suite, it’s the little things that count, being their two sweet little pups.

We hand illustrated the suite to give them a wedding suite as unique as the love they share.
