Dr. Greenwald has extensive experience providing several advanced surgical maneuvers to help reduce post-operative pain. Many of his patients, including those from NYC, Manhattan and Westchester County, do not need pain medications following surgery and most are able to return to their normal day-to-day activities within 24-48 hours. For patients undergoing primary breast augmentation, Dr. Greenwald does not use drains, instead relying on absorbable sutures which further eliminate any post-operative pain.

Breast augmentation, which is medically known as augmentation mammaplasty, is designed to help a woman achieve a more desirable breast size and shape. Dr. Greenwald uses breast implants to also correct dropping or sagging breasts and also to make the breasts more symmetrical should one be bigger than the other.

Dr. Greenwald offers his female patients from Westchester and New York City, including Manhattan, both saline and silicone breast implants, which he typically places beneath the pectoralis muscle lying underneath the breast tissue. His years of experience has shown Dr. Greenwald that by placing the breast implants in this location leads to a softer, less visible implant, while enabling excellent mammographic imaging of the breast to be performed.

For some patients breast augmentation is not enough to provide the desired bustline. When dealing with patients such as this, Dr. Greenwald will often use a combination of procedures. Sometimes a breast lift or mastopexy will be performed during the breast implant surgery. This combination of procedures allows for the breast to be more voluptuous while also relocating the nipple/areola to a more youthful placement while tightening the breast skin.

Dr. Greenwald treats most of his Westchester County and New York City breast augmentation patients at his private Harrison, New York facility. Typical procedure time is one hour, and Dr. Greenwald works with an experienced anesthesiologist to better ensure your safety and comfort.
