About The Blog
When I started this blog, I wasn’t quite sure what I would write about. My favourite team is the Toronto Raptors, but I follow a lot more teams and try to know what I can about every team. I started focusing more and more on the Raptors because it was those posts that my readers seemed to be most interested in. I don’t only write about the Raptors, but the majority of posts are about them. I try to include other tidbits about other teams in most posts, though.
I take a realist approach to basketball. That means I’ll say what I see, not what I want to see. Sometimes that means being critical when I feel the need. If you just want to read posts that fawn over the players, then this blog isn’t for you. That’s not to say I’m going to be overly critical, but I’m going to say what’s on my mind. Sometimes that’s going to be good, other times not.
As for me, I’ve been a fan of basketball since long, long before the NBA came to Canada. I didn’t get interested in basketball until highschool, but have followed it closely ever since. In fact, I was hired to work on NBA Live, from EA Sports, in part because of my NBA knowledge.
I don’t follow it quite as closely as I used to- kids will do that- but I still love the game.
And for those of you wondering where I came up with the name for the blog, watch this clip…
Here’s a real life example of the same play…
And for those interested, here’s a highlight reel I put together of when I ran the intramural league at Electronic Arts. For a work league, it was pretty high quality, which made things fun. It helped that there were quite a few former college and university players, as well as a guy who played briefly for Team Canada. Unfortunately, my team didn’t win the Championships.
