"These creatures pay tribute to my years as a dedicated student of mythology. A great proportion of my library is occupied by stories of the very fantastical creatures that comprise this deck. During our course of research, many lesser known beasts were brought to my attention and added a universal dimension to the project. The fantastical creatures represented in the deck are from all over the world and are very much part of who we are and how we may interpret our surroundings. These beings are fixtures in our psyches, evoking a sense of wonder with the ability to serve as archetypal references for our own life journeys. The images flowed from my pencil and brush, responding to my own need to depict these magnificent, mysterious creatures that continue to captivate our senses and imaginations."

"The paintings were executed using Windsor & Newton watercolors on 140 lb. hot press Saunders Waterford paper. The size of the originals is 7.5" x 12", or approximately 300% larger than trim size."
