FAQ

CG Games Open

What is CG Games?

The CG Games Open is a qualification round leading up to the CG Games Finals, together forming our annual, nationwide competition known as the CG Games.

How old must I be to compete?

All participants must be 18 at the time of registration.

How do I register?

There will be a button called “Register” next to the “Log in” fields. Click this and the site will direct you to the registration page. Cost to register for the Open round is a one-time fee of $25.

Registration will be open until 12:00 am Saturday, June 9th, the last testing day. However, to allow for multiple opportunities to complete the Fitness Challenges, we encourage any contender to register as soon as possible to take advantage of the full 5 week Open round which starts on Saturday, May 12.

All scores, results, and rankings will be displayed on the official CG Games website.

What are the dates of the Open round?

The Open round will run from May 12, 2012 through June 9, 2012. There will be 8 total testing dates within the five week Open to allow as many opportunities to test out as possible.

What is the format of the Open round?

Once you register for the CG Games, you will need to find a location in your region in which to test out on the six Fitness Challenges. There will be a list of all locations and times on the CG Games website under the “Open” tab.

Once you find a location and time that works for you, you simply show up. You will receive a scoresheet that you will use to record your scores. There will be stations for each of the six Fitness Challenges with our official judges available to time your performance. You can attempt all six challenges or just a few. You can attend every testing date or just a few, or even just one. For your registration, you have unlimited access to every date and location and can test out as many times as you like. We encourage all contenders to test out many times to either improve their scores and therefore their standing on the leaderboard, or as a way to track and record progress for their personal gain. Contenders wishing to be eligible for the Finals must have at least one valid score for each of the six Fitness Challenges.

Once you have completed a particular Fitness Challenge, the judge will give you your score. Through the course of a testing day, you will receive scores for each Challenge that you complete. You will then be responsible for uploading your scores on the CG Games website within 48 hours. Any submissions after 48 hours of each testing date will not be admissible.

What is the cost of the Open round?

The cost for competing in the Open round is a one-time fee of $25. This allows unlimited access to all eight testing days during the five weeks of the Open. Contenders can repeat their attempts as many times as they like, but contenders need to have at least one time for each challenge to be eligible for the Finals.

How do I find a location to complete the challenges?

You can find the full list of testing dates, locations, and times on the CG Games website under the Open tab, listed under “Open Test Days and Times.”

What is the process for uploading scores?

Upon arrival at the testing site, each contender will be given a scoresheet to record their scores for the Fitness Challenges that they complete that day (this is also where the competitor will check out at the end of the day). They will hand the scorecard to the judge of a fitness challenge and, after they have completed the challenge, the judge will record their scores on their scorecard. The competitor can complete as many challenges as they like, as many times as they like. When they are done for the day, each competitor MUST check out before leaving. To check out, the competitor will simply show their scorecard to the check-out person who will then transfer the competitors’ scores to a master list. The competitor will sign the scorecard indicating that they validate their scores and give to the check-out person. If you leave without checking out, your scores for that day WILL NOT be valid since we will not have a record of your scores.

In any dispute about submitted scores, the RD has the final authority to approve or not approve that score. All decisions by the RD are final. All questions should be sent to info@cggames.com with “Scoring” in the subject line.

Are there age divisions? Kid's or Masters?

At this time, there are no age divisions.

Will HQ invite a set number of competitors regardless of time?

There will not be a cutoff or minimum time to qualify. We will invite the top 50 men and 50 women regardless of time.

Will there be make-up testing days?

There will be no additional testing days. We have offered eight different days over five weeks with a variety of locations and times to accommodate everyones schedule. Only scores from official testing days and times, by an official judge will be allowed.

What if I am unable to complete all the challenges in the set time?

There is a two hour window in which to complete as many challenges as you like. If you do not get to finish all the challenges that you wanted, we encourage you to come back and try again on another testing day. With eight total testing days over five weeks, we feel that we have provided ample opportunity to get at least one score for each of the six Fitness Challenges.

Can the judges compete as well?

Yes. Judges, whether Camp Gladiator trainers or trained and approved volunteers, will be able to compete as a contender. Just like any other contender, they will sign up for a CG Games account and will need to be judged at an official CG Games Open location and time, by an official judge, and have their scores submitted and approved by the RD.

Will the different fitness challenges' scores/times be weighted differently?

No. You will be given a rank for each challenge that you complete. Your rank will be determined by your time relative to everyone else that has completed that particular challenge. You will then get a different ranking for each of the fitness challenges completed. Until you have a valid score for a fitness challenge, your rank for that challenge will be tied for last with everyone that has not completed that challenge. Each of your ranks will then be added together for a sum total number. This number will then determine where you rank in comparison to everyone else’s sum total number.
