Utilising a dedicated team of specialist technical and engineering consultants, Narec is working with developers of technologies to enhance their product and market propositions.  Narec speeds up the process towards commercialisation and field deployment.

Our capabilities and recent project experience includes:

Technical due diligence
Narec regularly undertake due diligence work on marine devices for prospective investors.
Prototype design
Narec has designed and built a large diameter permanent magnet generator for a marine application.
Power take-off solutions
Narec is currently leading an FP7 research project with 6 SME partners and a European University to develop a novel linear generator.
Control system development
Narec has designed, built and commissioned the data acquisition, communications and load management system for a tidal flow device.
Third party data validation
Narec has worked with a number of clients to verify the data obtained from the data acquisition equipment on their marine devices. This includes 3rd party verification of the documentation as well as on site equipment survey and inspection of the instrumentation itself.
Resource Assessment and Site Development
Narec has completed a number of contracts for national and international clients evaluating the wave and tidal energy resource potential of geographical locations.

In addition, Narec is also currently researching the industry requirement for the development of a novel subsea charging system.
