Bio

spacer Originally hailing from San Jose, CA Peter Bedard is a true hybrid: actor, designer, community activist, and passionate alternative health investigator/ advocate.

Having survived an astounding five close-to-death experiences in his lifetime, learning how to walk (again), and healing himself from a number of medical conditions over the years (fibromyaliga, chronic pain, arthritis, learning to walk again, etc.), Peter has now turned his attentions to his personal passion for alternative health and healing.

Somewhere at the crossroad of Dr. Andrew Weil and the daredevils from Jackass lies Peter’s new project, www.CreateYourHealth.com, where he will try out any alternative or traditional (indigenous) health practice he can track down. Whether they are off the shelf or off the wall – acupuncture, sound therapy, shamanism, witch doctors, stone throwers, scientists – Peter welcomes the opportunity to be a human guinea pig!

As an actor, you may have seen Peter on the big screen in Coffee Date, (starring Wilson Cruz, Sally Kirkland, and Jonathan Silverman), or in Tru Loved (with Alec Mapa, Bruce Vilanch, Jane Lynch, Alexandra Paul and Nichelle Nichols) or LA Actors (co-starring with Tony Shaloub). Peter also has a large internet presence with 40+ episodes on CreateYourHealth.com and as a writer on Examiner.com. Or perhaps you’ve seen his design work on the small screen on HGTV’s Designer’s Challenge, or live, annually, at the Beverly Hills’ Geary’s store.

As a community activist, Peter is responsible for founding the Manzanita Street Community Garden, and creating the Myra Avenue Mural Project. Sponsored by the Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council and the Franklin Hills Residents’ Association, MAMP has so far created three murals, two with the students from the Thomas Starr King Middle School, with a goal of creating a minimum of three school murals within the Myra Avenue underpass and beyond.
