Dr. James Evans – Our medical director, is a lifelong resident of northern Kentucky, having graduated from the University of Kentucky undergraduate and medical colleges. After receiving his residency training in emergency medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, he returned to Northern Kentucky in 1982 when he founded Emergency Care Physicians of Northern Kentucky which staffs the emergency departments of St. Elizabeth Florence and Ft. Thomas. Board-certified since 1982, he has served as medical director of NKEMS and the Greater Cincinnati Airport paramedic services, and currently serves as medical director for the City of Ft. Thomas paramedic service. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Healthcare Underwriters Group of Kentucky, a physician-owned and operated medical malpractice company.

During the past thirty in the emergency department he has treated daily the consequences of obesity and its associated conditions: diabetes, high blood pressure, and elevated cholesterol/triglycerides. Together, these four conditions comprise the entity known as The Metabolic Syndrome. Over time this syndrome leads to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease including heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and a host of other diseases and complications. Obesity seems to be the most common denominator of all four conditions. Dr. Evans is not only interested in helping his patients lose weight to look better and feel better, but more importantly, to make their health better so they can lead more active and longer lives. To this end, he has started Aesthetic Weight Management to assist patients in reaching both their goals and his goals for them.

Tammy Bernard – Our office staff is managed by Tammy Bernard who has worked in the weight loss field for the past thirteen years during which time she has assisted hundreds of patients achieve their weight loss goals. Her friendly, upbeat, and encouraging demeanor is the hallmark of our entire staff.
