This week we’re doing things a little differently. Because I’m on vacation, and I am no doubt going to see AWESOME things while I am out there- I’m moving Fave 5 to facebook. Keep an eye out for all the pictures and other details I’ll be posting all weekend. (Not just today!). Its an on-location Fave 5! I know there aren’t really any “features” this week- but if you’ve been a highlight in the past grab a button to show off! Just copy & paste this code onto your blog! <center><a class=”bit.ly/FaveFiveFeatured” title=”Sweet Anne Designs- Fave Five”><img src="/img/spacer.gif">
Is it just me or has this weekend been a scorcher!? At least in my little part of the USA. More than that- hubby and I have been at my mom’s all weekend- so its been a busy one too! On to the Fave 5! #1 Free Printables in Honor of Alice Hansen- by Heidi at Honeybear Lane Having lost my father at a young age, my heart goes out to children losing parents. So, when I saw this cross posted on Dollar Store Crafts, I decided to re-post it with no hesitation. The loss of a loved one is honestly, never easy. And while we all offer our sympathies and murmer words of Heaven as encouragement, but nothing we can say will truly bring comfort. #2 Ball Jar and Flowers Cookies ̵...
Whew! It’s Friday! That means several important and uplifting thigs: 1.) No more work until Monday! 2.) I get to go to a Bridal Shower tomorrow! 3.) I get to see my mommy on Sunday! All of that tally’s up to one happy Kayla this afternoon. =D I hope you all are feeling as chipper as I am. Finally kicking that nasty cold, getting back on the eating-right train, and catching up on my work duties. Feels good to cross things off the list. I guess I’m feeling particularly giving this week, because most of my faves are things I’d like to make/share with other people. I hope you enjoy! #1 Home Made Vanilla Extract – Adrianne at Happy Hour Projects I’ve...
Do you remember last week when I said it was wistful? This week was crappy. I’m not going to sugar coat it. Work was extremely stressful, the weather was too hot/too cold, and I had to get an emergency root canal yesterday. (Which means Mon-Thursday I was in excruciating pain.) Luckily, today I had an out-of-office meeting in a town by the lakeshore 2 hours away from home. My intern drove and I got to just enjoy the sunshine. To top it off, the meeting went well. Tomorrow is thrift stores and rummage sales, and Sunday is a VW Classic Beetle meet up with my hubby. So, looks like the week is ending strong. Along the way I’ve collected a truly random Fave 5. I hope you enjoy! &n...
This week has been a wistful one. After months of being calorie conscious I’ve been REALLY craving some indulgent sweets. Also, as it edges ever closer to summer (which appears to be coming unwillingly here in Michigan) my head’s been dreaming of new furniture, adorable tea-scapes, fantastic new home decor and out-door parties. This wistfulness I’m sure has been compounded by all the beautiful things going around my readers, Pinterest, and general Google searches this week. So here they are! My 5 favorites! #1 3D Paper Diamonds – By Kate on Minieco I’m always falling in love with the paper projects over at MiniEco. They are always so refreshingly...
This week has been a hectic one. Drama and emergencies at work, clutter and mess piling up at home, and hardly any time to myself. No time except the 2-3 minutes of Pinterest, Facebook, or Google Reader I snatch here and there on my phone or on my work computer. I know, I know, shame on me I should be focusing! But you know, sometimes a girl just needs a little eye candy. Sometimes I need a bright color, a clever saying, a sweet message to look at and adore. Why? Because it reminds me that I’m human, and that there is more to life that whatever print piece or website I’m designing at the time. And also because all of those perfectly kept houses almost make me forget what mine l...
There’s a special kind of bond you get in art school. Every one of your classmates watches while you struggle, bare your secrets, produce your proudest pieces- not to mention stay up for 3 days straight before final projects are due. I have to admit that sometimes I miss it. In my job I’m the only “creative” and sometimes that is lonely. There is no one to share my work with, no one to critique from an artsy perspective (its usually just a lot of text editing) and so I started my craft blog. The best decision ever. The past few weeks I have been just so overwhelmed with the amazing things that have been put out there on the blogosphere. Perfectly thought out and...
