Hi! My name is Kristin and welcome to Simply Klassic Home. I am a thirty-something, single, adoptive mom of two preschoolers. I struggled with infertility for years before choosing to adopt, only to become a single mom of TWO, unexpectedly a few years later when my adopted son’s sister came into our lives. I love being crafty and DIY-ing. My kids are a handful, I’m exhausted, and most days my house is a mess. This blog is the place where I share our crazy, beautiful, perfectly imperfect life!

I bought my first house in 2008. It belonged to my grandmother, who died in 2007. By a simple twist of fate, I was blessed to be able to buy her home. The past few years have involved attempting to make her home my home. It's been a difficult journey, knowing that what she loved about her house wasn't necessarily what I loved. Making changes was emotional. And besides that, I didn't really know what my "style" was.

I have begun a journey to discover my style, to turn my home into a reflection of us using things that I love, have created, or re-purposed. I have been most attracted to things that are simple, vintage, shabby and/or salvaged. I love using natural fibers and a neutral pallet with a few pops of color here and there.

This blog has also encouraged me to open my own blog design business, Simply Klassic Design. I am self taught in graphic design and found that I enjoy the creative outlet immensely.

A Simply Klassic Home will focus on finding and defining my style and decorating my home with things that I love. Of course I will still share some free printables that you all love, recipes and perhaps a few humorous Mom stories as well. I would love to have you along for the journey.
