Our mission
Delaware Valley Grantmakers (DVG) is a membership association of funders dedicated to building stronger communities in the greater Philadelphia region by increasing the impact and effectiveness of philanthropy.
Core strengths
• Ideas. Offering workshops, publications and conferences to provide the best thinking on excellence in grantmaking.
• Connections. Cultivating networks of experts, civic leaders and peers to build and share knowledge and best practices.
• Leadership. Assembling a dynamic group of community and philanthropic leaders to address community issues and strengthen the collective power of the region's grantmaking.
Local edge
We were founded in 1988 by Philadelphia area grantmakers who wanted to establish a forum where they could share best practices, talk about vital social issues and explore meaningful ways to work together. Now, more than 20 years later, we are the premier meeting place for leading regional funders to build essential skills, share knowledge and stay on top of key issues and trends.
National in scope
Our reach goes beyond the local community of funders. Several DVG members are national funders. In partnership with many national philanthropy organizations, DVG provides local members with relevant information and programming—in person and online. And we are one of more than 30 regional associations of grantmakers operating in cities, states, and multi-state regions across the United States, all affiliated through a national network called the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers. Combined, we represent more than 4,000 grantmaking organizations from all 50 states.
