It is never easy to find words that would be able to make the news softer or easier to digest so it is with great sadness that I am reporting that Clare Lightman has passed away Friday April 27. Services will be held in her honor for many events to come. If you are able please come out to celebrate the life of Clare Lightman with Friends and Family on May 2nd at the Avalon site at Patapsco State Park in Elkridge, MD at 2pm. MAP.

Also there will be a Markland Send off for Clare on May 11-13 at Black Bird State Park - Cypress Complex. Potluck style feast and Celebration on Saturday.

Clare you were a kind and gentle person and you will be missed by all.

The annual meeting of the Folk, the Winter Althyng will be held on Jan. 28th at 1pm at the Upper Salford Township Fire Company. Any voting member of Markland may vote at the Althyng, or grant a proxy* to another member to count as your vote. As per our bylaws there is no charge for the Althyng, but please stick around after the meeting for the Feast of Plenty.
