Lucas Till had a fairly successful 2011 featuring in both “Battle: Los Angeles” and “X-Men: First Class” before finding himself part of Park Chan-wook’s English-language debut “Stoker” opposite names like Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode and Mia Wasikowska. With the latter film inching closer to an unveiling (maybe we’ll find out tomorrow?), Till has joined another project which will see him star alongside veterans Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman as well as fellow newcomer Liam Hemsworth.

Till will play Hemworth’s friend and co-worker in Robert Luketic’s upcoming corporate thriller, “Paranoia,” an adaptation of Joseph Finder’s novel of the same name, which follows a low-level employee at a high-tech corporation who, when caught committing a crime, is given the choice between jail or spying on a rival company. No surprise in what choice he makes; here’s a full synopsis of the novel, courtesy of Amazon:

Adam Cassidy is twenty-six and a low level employee at a high-tech corporation who hates his job. When he manipulates the system to do something nice for a friend, he finds himself charged with a crime. Corporate Security gives him a choice: prison – or become a spy in the headquarters of their chief competitor, Trion Systems.

They train him. They feed him inside information. Now, at Trion, he’s a star, skyrocketing to the top. He finds he has talents he never knew he possessed. He’s rich, drives a Porsche, lives in a fabulous apartment, and works directly for the CEO. He’s dating the girl of his dreams. His life is perfect. And all he has to do to keep it that way is betray everyone he cares about and everything he believes in. But when he tries to break off from his controllers, he finds he’s in way over his head, trapped in a world in which nothing is as it seems and no one can really be trusted.

While Ford and Oldman aren’t officially on board just yet, the two are reportedly in advanced negotiations. Luketic’s resume is pretty spotty so far, full of mediocre rom-coms (“Legally Blonde,” “Killers,” “The Ugly Truth,” “Monster In Law”) but with a cast of this stature being put together for an interesting story like this, hopefully he’s looking to turn the corner. A summer shoot in New York and Mumbai is being eyed.
