Dear PRISM Members and Corporate Partners,
 
In a continuing effort to communicate about the ongoing leadership and staff transition, along with other developments within PRISM International, I'd like to share my response to a recent question from longtime PRISM member Bill Palisano at Lincoln Archives. I expect others might have similar questions to Bill's...that being how we'll replace the industry specific knowledge of our outgoing Executive Director, Jim Booth.
 

ASIA, EUROPE AND LATIN AMERICA

In 2011 the Board of Directors formulated a policy to create a stronger governance structure for members in identifiable regions. These “advisory councils” are still subject to Board approval but have more authority to help determine budgets, special projects, and engage in activities to support members in the region. During their March conference call the Board reviewed advisory council members submitted from Asia, Europe and Latin America and approved the recommendations.

I've promised to keep all of you updated on our continued efforts to establish a successful transition plan for PRISM International. As you know, Jim Booth, our long-time Executive Director, announced roughly two years ago that he felt like the time was approaching for him to move on. Since that time, the 2010 and 2011 PRISM Boards have been considering various approaches to filling that position. Again we're grateful to Jim for giving us so much time to achieve the best possible outcome.
 
Our focus became much clearer over the last year or so after hiring an outstanding consulting firm (Vetted Solutions) to help lead us through this process. We also selected a transition committee from amongst the board to help narrow the potential options for new leadership. The transition committee had several goals in addressing the strategic needs of PRISM International:

PRISM INTERNATIONAL CREATES PRIVACY PLUS CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

In order to provide market-recognized guidance on best practices to prevent data breaches and enhance the security and confidentiality of client materials, PRISM International introduced its Privacy Plus Certification Program during a workshop on January 24-25, 2012. The program has been in development since 2010.

Dear PRISM Members,
 
I was honored to begin my term as President of PRISM International on January 1 of this year. In what I expect to be a dynamic year of change for our organization, regular communication among us is paramount. With that in mind, I ask you take a few minutes of your valuable time to read the thoughts below.

Jim Booth has served PRISM for over 12 years now and he felt it in the best interests of the association for him to move on in mid-2012. We were fortunate to have plenty of time to consider the alternatives to replacing Jim and this has been a terrific advantage for the organization and a gift from him.
 
In the spring of 2011, I was asked to serve on the PRISM Transition Committee formed to focus on Jim's departure, so I've had the opportunity to consider all of the transition issues firsthand. My initial reaction to the prospect of contracting with an Association Management Company (as compared to employing an Executive Director supported by internal staff) was skepticism. I have close relationships with the PRISM staff and I felt that the folks in our NC headquarters offer a level of personalized service and expertise that would be tough to duplicate through a management firm.

Incorporated into a new line of machines dubbed NewGen shredders, Vecoplan demonstrated the advantages and benefits of these innovations on two models, a VAZ 1300 M and a VAZ 1600 XL FF T.
