Fishing:
Ontario is the top destination in Canada for freshwater fishing. The
Clearwater Lake / Pipestone Lake
chain of lakes have a justifiable reputation for having the very best
Walleye fishing,
Northern Pike fishing,
Lake Trout fishing,
Muskie fishing
and
Smallmouth Bass fishing
in Northwestern Ontario. Complementing this list of popular gamefish is the availability of other fish such as
Whitefish,
Crappie,
Perch and
Largemouth Bass. Clearwater Lodge is located in the center of it all with easy access to all species.

We are even open in the winter. Ice fishing is available for Walleye, Northern Pike and Lake Trout.
Our guests have over 70 miles of interconnecting lakes to explore. Our waterways meander through the pristine wilderness of Northwestern Ontario and can take you into remote locations that are only accessible by boat or floatplane and have next to no fishing pressure.

As a result, our guests enjoy catching high volumes of fish as well as big trophies. Good eating size Walleyes are plentiful with trophies over 10 pounds occasionally being caught. Giant Muskie patrol the lake like sharks; eating anything that moves. Muskie are common including a good population of 50+-inch trophies. Monster Northern Pike are the Waterwolves of the lake. They rein supreme in the weedy bays and backwater estuaries where they eat anything and can reach over 20 pounds. Fat and hard-fighting Smallmouth Bass are lords of the rocks and can be found everywhere. Smallmouth Bass are common up to 4 pounds with the occasional bass in the 5 to 8 pound class being caught.

Hunting:
In the fall we offer guests outstanding Whitetail Deer Hunting. We are located within the famous Whitetail Triangle where the biggest wild fair-chase Whitetail Bucks in North America are being harvested. Hunting magazines all over the USA and Canada have been saying this part of Ontario has the best Whitetail Deer hunting in the world.
Black Bear Huntingin our BMA is among the best in Ontario. We take a limited amount of hunters each fall to ensure a high success rate. Black Bears in our area are common in the 225 to 375 pound range, with a couple over the years that were almost 600 pounds. Color phases such as chocolate Black Bears and Cinnamon Black bears are available as well.
Hunting vacations for Wolf, Grouse and Waterfowl are also popular at Clearwater Lodge.
