Testimonials

Since 2008, over 70 graduate students have taken classes in the Learning Technologies Master of Science (LTMS) program. Below is what some of them have to say about their experience, the impact of the courses, the quality of the instructors and the flexibility of the program structure.

“As an Instructional Designer, [it] was a valuable learning experience. Not only was I able to apply what I learned to my work environment, I also gained numerous resources and had the chance to share my experiences with peers from both educational and business backgrounds. I would definitely recommend these clinics to other educators and business professionals!”
-Ana Exedaktilos, Gannett Fleming, Inc.

“I would highly recommend the Web 2.0 class offered by HU because it was project based and applicable to teaching and learning. While we were introduced to a variety of Web 2.0 tools, the discussions and projects focused on how to use those tools to improve student learning which was the most beneficial to me. As a result of the class, I am still part of network of educators to whom I can gain ideas and insights from anytime. I continue to use what I learned in my job working with students and teachers.”
-Julie Lehmer, Harrisburg School District

“In just two years, I’ve become more confident about using technology in the classroom. The HU instructors teach practical, relevant tools that increase the students’ motivation, encouraging them to produce high-quality 21st century work. I’ve used many of the techniques in my classroom; the students now have new ways to collaborate with their family, classmates, and teachers, as well as professionals within their community and around the world.”
-Andrea Holtry, Middletown Area School District

“I took the games and simulations course with very little previous experience on Power Point. I was amazed at the amount of skills that I learned in such a short time!”
-Angela Rupert

“I enjoyed the course set-up, the interaction with the other educator participants, and the knowledge and enthusiasm of the instructor.”
-Amy Soule, Conestoga Valley School District

“Harrisburg University's Web 2.0 summer clinic taught by Jim Gates was by far the most rewarding professional development class I have taken in my 15 year teaching career. The greatest value, besides knowledge of how best to teach using Web 2.0 tools, was the professional dialogue with other local teachers."
- Arthur Titzel, Hershey Middle School

"I personally feel more confident as a teacher in the 21st century's new learning environments [after taking an educator technology clinic] and have taken an active leadership role at my school as a member of our district-wide technology committee."
- Betsy Riter, West Perry School District
