fd2s was founded in 1985, and today co-founders Steve Stamper and Larry Fuller, along with fellow principal Curtis Roberts, continue to lead a talented, multidisciplinary team of designers, writers, and project managers.

Steven L. Stamper, SEGD

spacer Steven L. Stamper was one of the founders of fd2s in 1985 and currently leads the team as it addresses critical strategic and technical issues related to wayfinding, orientation, and placemaking in the environment.

His recent work has included wayfinding strategy development and environmental graphic design for institutions including the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center, the Texas Children’s Hospital, the Texas Medical Center, and the Duke Clinic.

Stamper is a former President of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design, and is credited with the development of the industry standard Grade II Braille digital font system.

Larry Paul Fuller

spacer Larry Paul Fuller is a writer and communications professional with extensive experience in the fields of journalism and architecture. Prior to co-founding fd2s in 1985, he served for 10 years as editor of the award-winning Texas Architect magazine, and has contributed to a variety of trade and consumer publications, including Progressive Architecture, Architecture, Process Architecture, Texas Homes, and Texas Monthly. In the capacity of copywriter, he has produced numerous successful advertising campaign and corporate communications programs.

Fuller is currently responsible for many of the financial and administrative aspects of the firm’s daily operations, and also plays a key role in decisions regarding the firm’s strategic direction. He holds a Master of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.

Curtis Roberts, SEGD

spacer Curtis Roberts is an environmental graphic designer with more than 20 years of experience across a broad range of project types, including hospitals, retail centers, corporate offices, and transportation facilities. In addition to working throughout the United States, he also has extensive international experience, including mixed-use and retail developments in Europe, Asia, South America, and the Middle East.

One of the firm’s leading creative voices for the past several years, Roberts’ architectural education and outstanding design and documentation skills enable him to bring a unique perspective to all phases of a project. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin, is a regular presenter on the topic of environmental graphic design at industry events, and has served as a guest critic at the Texas State University College of Fine Arts and Communication.
