Nick Russo www.nickrusso.org Guitarist, Nick Russo,
recent winner of the 2004 International Jazz Workshop at The BANFF Centre in
Canada (director, Dave Douglas) & winner of the 2001 JAS academy in Aspen
Colorado (director, Christian McBride, mentioned in Dec. 2001 issue of Down
Beat magazine), leads a life of full-time performing, including performances
at:
Nick Russo is currently the guitarist and banjoist
with Vince Giordano and The Night
Hawks and has recently toured with Guitarist Frank Vignola and drummer Joe Ascione
of The Frank and Joe Show. Nick also has worked with vibraphonist, Teddy
Charles, bassist, Sony Dallas, saxophonist, Tim Berne,
violinist, Jim Nolet (formally with the Jazz
Passengers) and vocalist Miles Griffith. His first CD was recorded
February 2002 with legendary trumpeter, Dr. Eddie Henderson, bassist, Essiet Essiet and
drummers Ralph Peterson and Montez
Coleman. While attending the Jack McDuff raiser,
Nick Russo sat in with George Benson at Showmans and Birdland.
Nick is also the author of 2 books: "Metallica, Legendary Licks series vol. 1 &
vol. 2" as well as the editor of the GRP arpeggio book and
exercise book (published by Cherry Lane/Hal Leonard). |
