Laser Eye Surgery at Southwestern Eye Center

Southwestern Eye Center surgeons specialize in Custom LASIK, a highly individualized vision correction procedure designed to deliver unsurpassed accuracy that often leads to 20/20 vision or better. LASIK eye surgery at Southwestern Eye Center is performed with the advanced VISX STAR Laser system. This technology allows eye surgeons to develop a unique treatment plan for each patient by identifying even the smallest imperfections. The procedure is performed by creating a corneal flap and reshaping the underlying corneal tissue using an excimer laser. Southwestern Eye Center surgeons have performed thousands of successful LASIK procedures.

Cataract Surgery at Southwestern Eye Center

Southwestern Eye Center boasts an impressive number of highly qualified cataract surgeons who have helped many patients achieve clearer vision. Cataract surgery at Southwestern Eye Center is performed using a "no-stitch" technique and premium lens implants. This advanced procedure allows surgeons to eliminate cataracts while reducing the patient's dependence on glasses and contact lenses. The cataract surgeons of Southwestern Eye Center offer the most sophisticated intraocular lens implants (IOLs), including AcrySof ReSTOR, Tecnis and the accommodating Crystalens, which can also be used for presbyopia correction.

What Do Patients Say About Southwestern Eye Center?

"…in March of 2006 I decided enough was enough and that it was time to have LASIK surgery. Going into surgery on April 7, 2006, my sight in both eyes was 20/400, being nearsighted and having astigmatism in both eyes. Now that my eyes have healed, I have perfect 20/20 vision in both eyes.

The care from the staff before, during and after the surgery has been excellent and I have recommended Southwestern Eye Center to several people as "The Place to Go for LASIK Surgery." In closing, if you have been thinking about having LASIK surgery, all I can say is…"GO FOR IT! It has been the best money I have ever spent!!!" —James B. Spangler

"The question that always comes up is based on the level of 'pain'! What impressed me the most about Southwestern Eye Center's doctors and nurses was the way that you are walked through the entire process. Every step is described as to what to expect therefore eliminating any surprises. There was no pain and when anything unusual was going to occur I knew what to expect. Any discomfort was minimized by having every step described. I would do it again for 3 times the expense as it has improved the quality of my life by 10 times." —Kent Urbine

"I think I am pretty much like everyone else who turned forty and discovered they suddenly need glasses. It took me about three years to get used to walking with bi-focals, I had trouble walking without looking down. A few years later, I needed some distance correction. I had a lot of trouble changing back and forth between sunglasses and reading glasses. It was such a hassle.

When I heard about the Crystalens, I was hesitant to have anything done to my eyes…I had to give a lot of serious thought to the process before I decided to get the procedure done. I had cataracts that needed to be removed that I didn't know I had until I had the first eye done – everything I saw with the natural eye appeared yellow. After having the first eye done, I had no doubt that I had done the right thing. I have talked to others who have had the surgery and they often have the same results as me. I can see very clearly at a distance. I have recommended this procedure to several friends and they are as delighted as I am.

It is such a relief to go without glasses for the rest of my life. The Cataracts never grow back and the Crystalens is a permanent implant. I couldn't be more pleased." —Cliff Whiles

"I was a contact lens wearer for 14 years. Day after day and year after year my eyes became red, blurry, dry, and irritated.

After receiving the Implantable Contact Lens procedure, I could see instantly! I no longer have red, irritated eyes. Currently, I am seeing better now than I ever have before.

Thanks to Southwestern Eye Center, I am seeing 20/20 in both eyes. This procedure has changed my life." —Heather Bluth
