1-866-DUENORTH

As I described during our departure, I will encourage anyone seeking a great fishing experience to try Peninsular.  Just have any prospects contact me if you need a reference.  We appreciated the excellent service you provided at Peninsular.  You greatly exceeded our expectations for such a distant site.  We look forward to next year, as always.

Due North Outpost Camps - A Brief History

Due North Outpost Camps

Due North Outpost Adventures began in 2002 when Elson and Kim Strickland decided to purchase their outpost camps from Holinshead Lake Outfitters. The learning curve was steep that first year, but the excitement of a new venture powered them through the lessons along the way. Elson and Kim recognize the importance of hands on ownership and have continued to be involved with every facet of the outfitting business.

spacer The Stricklands moved the Due North Outpost Adventures main base from Holinshead Lake to McKenzie Lake in Armstrong, Ontario in 2004. The move to this new base has allowed Due North to dramatically increase its level of service and efficiency by striking a partnership with a neighboring business, Wabakimi Air, to fly Due Norths guests to the fishing outposts. Guests of Due North Outpost Adventures now enjoy overnight accommodations at a local motel and their meals in a restaurant before flying out to their camp.

Due North, now in its ninth year of operation, is more pumped than ever and dedicated to its pursuit of providing a get-away that is worthy of your time and hard earned money. A few changes have taken place: a new name, Due North Outpost Camps, and the removal of Peninsular Lake from its outpost portfolio. What remains the same is the unwavering commitment to value and customer satisfaction. Elson and Kim truly believe that they offer you the ultimate vacation experience, so what are you waiting for?

Elson and Kim Strickland

spacer Elson Strickland, a native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, was raised in the southern Ontario town of Huntsville. Kim Strickland was born and raised in that same small town of Huntsville. Elson returned to the northwest with Kim in 1993 to raise a family, which now includes their 4 daughters,  Emma, Alexa, Kyla and Talia.  Elson is exceptionally familiar with the tourism industry, having worked in the operations department (code for whatever needs to be done) of a five-star, full-service resort for many years. Successful small business owners of a contracting company for more than a decade, Elson and Kim's clients appreciated their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Both avid outdoorsmen, Elson and Kim enjoy fishing and hunting in an intimate family setting or with a group of friends. They often spend their free time with their daughters, exploring new areas of the wilderness by quad or by snowshoe. Elson is also an enthusiastic aviator, earning his private pilot's license while still a teenager through the Air Cadet League of Canada. He has explored many areas in the region giving him a deep respect for both the land and the animals. Of course, he also has his fair share of stories to tell about the ones that have gotten away...

Elson and Kim Strickland very much look forward to being your outfitters and hosting your trip in 2012!
