European CIO of the Year 2012

The winners of the 2012 European CIO of the year awards are announced on the CIONET blog.

Today, the most successful organizations rely on Information Technologies (IT) to accomplish a variety of strategic benefits. As a result, the strategic roles of IT professionals have expanded and diversified. The change is most evident with CIOs. The European CIO of the Year is the first set of awards that recognizes different types of CIOs based on what kind of business value they bring most to their organizations.
There are two key objectives to the 2012 European CIO of the Year awards:
1. Raise awareness in the public and business press of the increasingly strategic and diverse roles of CIOs;
2. Recognize and celebrate CIOs that have made their organizations more successful by using ICT in more effective ways.
