About me

My name is Kate Hadfield, I’m a 30-something British mum of two, a digital scrapbooker and graphic designer illustrator graphic artist doodler. I create hand-drawn downloadable designs for scrapbookers, card-makers and crafters that are available at The Lilypad online store.

I started scrapbooking in early 2006 and opened up my store at The Lilypad about a year later. After studying Fine Art at college, working in a photographic agency and trying out almost every craft under the sun, I have returned to my first love: drawing! There are few things in life that make me happier than opening a crisp new sketchbook, sharpening my pencils and getting doodly with it!

I live a simple life with my family, when I am not designing or scrapping you might find me out walking with my dog, eating the odd chocolate or two, building dens with the kids, ‘helping’ my husband renovate our house or watching Doctor Who. Everything stops for Doctor Who!

Publications: I was a member of the Creative Scrapbooking Magazine design team where I wrote a series of ‘how-to’ articles about digital scrapbooking. I have a similar series of tutorial articles published in The Scrapbook Magazine and I was also a regular contributor to Scrapbook Inspirations (UK magazine) and Digital Artist Magazine (ezine). Projects and layouts using my products have been published in a number of UK magazine including Papercraft Essentials, Crafts Beautiful and Scrapbook Inspirations.

Websites: I’m the founder of The Digi Dares challenge site and am now co-owner of the Gallery Standouts blog where we showcase some of the most outstanding digital layouts in the  galleries. I have been a guest (or have had my layouts  or designs featured) on several websites including: Craft Business, Pencil Lines, Papercraft Junkies, It’s a Creative World, Hodge Podge Art, Scrapblog,  The Daily Scrapper, The Daily Digi,  DS Memories, Digi Shop Talk (featured designer) and UKScrappers.
