Irony is defined as “the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning.” The term doublespeak means “evasive, ambiguous language that is intended to deceive or confuse.” There is perhaps no greater example of ironic doublespeak than inclusion of the phrase “civil liberties” within the inapt designation: “American Civil Liberties Union.” Read the rest of this entry »

America is shocked, shocked! Kermit Gosnell, a 69 year old abortion doctor, was arrested last week, charged with killing seven babies and causing the death of a woman during a botched abortion. An illegal, late-term abortion. Prosecutors are accusing Gosnell of using scissors to snip the spinal cords of 7 babies who were inconveniently born alive. Read the rest of this entry »

Despite the massive fiscal stimulus package of nearly $800 billion approved by the Congress early last year, and trillions of dollars pumped by the Fed, the rally in various key economic data seems to be coming to an end. After falling to 32.5 in December 2008 the ISM manufacturing index peaked at 60.4 in April this year. In August the index stood at 56.3. Also the unemployment rate remains stubbornly high at 9.6per cent with almost 15 million Americans out of work.
