YUSU is a union run for, and by, the 15,000 students at the University of York. We're a charity that helps students share ideas, create change, gain new skills and access help and support while at University. Have a look around these pages to see what we do and how we're doing it.

Disability Awareness Events

Tweet Posted by Disabled Students' Officer, 08/06/2012.

In week 9 the Disabled Student's are holding a couple of events to promote disability awareness.

The first of these will be a film night on Tuesday week 9, where we will be showing The Diving Bell and The Butterfly (www.imdb.com/title/tt0401383/).

The second of these will be a series of short talks from students about their experiences of living with mental health problems on Thursday week 9.  If you would like to be one of the students speaking at this event, please drop me an e-mail at access@yusu.org or disability@yusu.org, everyone is welcome.  Additionally, if you would like to share your experiences, but don't want to do this in person, I am more than happy to read out statements on behalf of other people.

I will be posting more information about both events nearer the time.  But don't forget to check out the disabled student's network facebook page (www.facebook.com/pages/YUSU-Disabled-Students-Network/232206100129215) or twitter (@yusu_ds) for more updates!
