Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust provides grant assistance to local community groups and organisations for environmental and community projects.

This website should help you find out more about the two grant schemes we operate in the county of Cumbria.

The Landfill Tax Grant Scheme (LTGS) is the principal grant scheme we run in Cumbria and one of the main criteria of this scheme is that your project must be within a 10 mile radius of a tax paying landfill site.  A quick telephone call to our office will help you decide if your project is eligible under this rule.

The Cumbria Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (CALSF) is the secondary grant scheme we run in Cumbria and the location eligibility for this scheme is determined by a set of maps.  Again a quick telephone call to our office will help you decide if your project is eligible and a detailed location map can be sent to you relevant to the nearest active aggregates extraction quarry.  The eligibility is not based on a radius of the quarry but determined by quarry traffic and blasting in the area.
