Patriot 28 is based in Houston Texas and manages the Patriot Bridge and Opportunity Fund 1 and 2. Our management team is headed by George Jarkesy, and draws on the team’s knowledge, experience and vast network of industry professionals, businesses, and experts to locate and identify entrepreneurial growth companies and other investments in our proprietary strategy. Through a stringent selection process, investments are evaluated for potential to maximize return.  As a Hedge Fund, Patriot 28 employs creative approaches to hedge its portfolios against multiple risks.

A  money manager and professional investor, respected financial and corporate adviser, and a dynamic public speaker, George has founded, invested in, and helped to build companies engaged in a broad range of industry sectors, including financial consulting, media, real estate investing, real estate management, employee leasing, light steel manufacturing, livestock management, high technology, natural resources, healthcare, and biotechnology.

Among other priorities, George is currently focused on expanding the National Eagles and Angels Association (NEAA), a nationwide alliance of individual investors and business angels currently comprising active NEAA chapters in key metropolitan markets across the country.
George is also privileged to host the program, “New Captains of Industry,” a show dedicated to frank and insightful discussion on the world of macroeconomics, key industry trends, politics and the stock market. In addition, he is a frequent market commentator on CNBC, Fox News, and FOX Business News.

George started his career in the financial services industry with Josephthal Lyon and Ross, a New York Stock Exchange member. Over the past two decades, he has consulted numerous venture capital groups as well as investment banking departments at small to medium sized broker dealers on investment strategies, risk management and implementation. Individually and through one of his companies, he was a successful strategic investor in two public biotechnology companies (ANX and OPXA). George was a co-founder of PharmaFrontiers Corporation (now Opexa Therapeutics: OPXA), and has had investments in VoIP, Internet Security and Gaming. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer and President of SH Celera Capital Corporation, an internally managed fund. In the 1990’s, George expanded his investments to China as well as other international markets – well before mainstream investing in emerging markets became in vogue. George was an early seed investor for Oilsands Quest (NYSE: BQI), a development stage company engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of natural resource properties in Canada; and a significant investor-turned-board member of Radiant Oil and Gas, Inc (ROGI).

Clay Mahaffey, Patriot Bridge and Opportunity Fund Lead Analyst

Mr. Mahaffey began his career with Exxon in engineering and later moved into board room level international business development for a major petrochemical company. He conducted merger and acquisition services for The Sterling Group in Houston, Texas, and led an LBO program for a Boston-based investment firm. He later worked as an SEC Registered Investment Advisor and has held Series 7 and 65 licensees. In addition, as an independent equity analyst, he has covered oil and gas, energy and other industry stocks, and received a “Five Star” rating from Yahoo Finance for predicting stock performance results. Mr. Mahaffey has co-founded ventures in the gaming, international distribution and oil service industries. He has been quoted in numerous domestic and international publications, including Bloomberg News. He is also a private investor in oil and gas prospects. Mr. Mahaffey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter and is a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts.
