Estate Archives

Locust Grove’s archives focus on the Young Family Papers, donated to Locust Grove as part of Annette Innis Young’s founding bequest in 1975.  This collection comprises more than 1,000 boxes of historic documents and 5,000 photographs.  Dating between 1830 and 1980, the collection includes personal correspondence, photographs, financial and business records, as well as diaries and journals – the complete record of the Young family’s personal and professional lives.

The Young Family Papers are still being processed.  Courtesy of a generous grant from the New York State Documentary Heritage Program, finding aids are available for several family members.  Click on each name for a finding aid and short biography
