Watermelon Slim

U.S. artist Watermelon Slim played his first ever Bluesnight back in 2002 when he was still a long-distance truck driver by day and musician by night. Then in 2005 he won the 'W.C.Handy Best Blues Artist' award, and swapped his truck cab for a full-time musical career. If you think Seasick Steve is the real deal, wait 'til you encounter Watermelon Slim! You'll be so glad you did!

Midnight Train

Midnight Train lays down a mix of funk, soul, blues and old-school R&B. Fronted by vocalist Debbie Giles, with a musical pedigree to die for, Debs' smoothly rich vocals are supported by Bluesnights' favourite drummer Sam Kelly; vibrant, creative keyboard player Steve Oakman; on guitar the sensitive touch of Pete Emery; and on funky bass Chris Belshaw. Not to be missed!

Groanbox

Groanbox, the North American trio of Paul Clifford, Cory Seznec, and Michael Ward-Bergeman, are a musical hybrid of ideas and ideals. At first glance a roots band steeped in the traditions of American music, they play with all the guts of rock and roll and all the soul of the wandering troubadour. Their 2010 Bluesnight was a runaway sell-out success; make sure you don’t miss this one!

Cherry Lee Mewis

In just a few years Cherry Lee Mewis has gone from playing local gigs in her Welsh home town of Mochdre to performing at the Howlin' Wolf Memorial Festival in West Point, Mississippi; being special guest of Blind Mississippi Morris in BB King's Memphis club; and opening for 'Mud' Morganfield (Muddy Waters' son) on his UK tour. This Bluesnight features her with veteran guitarist Max Milligan and bassist Robbie Matthews. Just wait 'til you meet her. You'll be so glad you did!
