CVMF is now PetAid Colorado!

The Colorado Veterinary Medical Foundation (CVMF) is pleased to announce that after 10 years, the organization — which houses programs such as Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital — has changed its name to PetAid Colorado.

“We undertook this process with both trepidation and excitement, and with the upmost care and respect for the organization’s history and its founders,” said Executive Director Ralph Johnson. “Following a process of consultation with our board, supporters, and partner organizations, we have approved a new name and a fresh, new visual identity.”

Key stakeholders and constituents made it clear that clarity and simplicity are paramount in expressing who the organization is and what it does. The new name will have minimal impact on the way the staff and board go about their work — but it will certainly make it much easier to express it to friends, donors, and the communities it serves. At the same time, the new identify maintains the distinctiveness it brings as the safety net for underprivileged and at-risk pets throughout Colorado.

“Our new identity proclaims our mission in a way that intuitively connects with people who care about pets in need, and it clearly communicates our four core services,” said President of PetAid Colorado Donna Hultin. “We look forward with enthusiasm to attracting broader public awareness and greater numbers of donors to our cause. With more resources, we can serve more pets in need and weave a stronger safety net for their care.”

The new program names will be changed to the following, but the mission they all serve has remained intact:

  • Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital is now called PetAid Animal Hospital
  • Animal Emergency Management Program is now called PetAid Disaster Services
  • Home Outreach Pet Exams (HOPE) is now called PetAid Home Outreach
  • Veterinary Care Grants is now called PetAid Care Grants

Our Mission

PetAid Colorado, a 501(c)(3), was created to support education, scholarship, and service programs that improve animal health and welfare in Colorado. The involvement of veterinarians makes the foundation unique, allowing it to make the broadest impact on animal health and to offer services and insights that no other group can. In short, the foundation exists to make Colorado a better place for animals and people.
