Where the Ebro river runs through Flix, you fill find two areas of great natural interest: the Sebes wild animal nature reserve and the Flix Meander. These two spots are ideal for studying local flora and fauna as well as the fringing forest, and are constantly changing throughout the year. The Sebes wild animal nature reserve is located on the left-hand side of the river, upriver from the reservoir. The Flix Meander is almost 5 km long and is crowned by the castle. Along the ferrys route, you can visit the town or enjoy the scenery by to the river. |

The Mas del Director centre This centre provides environmental information and education on the natural environment of Sebes. It is the starting point for various tours to the lookout points and observatories, which are accessible via well-equipped and signposted footbridges and paths. The Reedbed Lookout Point This lookout point offers a magnificent view of the Sebes reedbed and lagoon. In the summertime it fills up with the nests of great and common reed warblers, two migrating species that nest here. From here you can see all types of birdlife: the elusive moorhen, grey heron, purple heron, mallard, cormorant, and osprey in wintertime. The marsh harrier the symbol of the reserve is the only bird of prey that nests in the reedbed. |
The Footbridge in the Fringing Forest From here, you can enter the forested area full of white willows and poplars. Duckweed floats in the Mitjana canal, and in the silence you can hear the song of gurnards, turtle doves, nightingales, golden orioles and more. |
