Texas Based Location

Sales and Reservations Department:

Regional Sales Manager (based in Texas): FT
Grand Canyon Railway is seeking a highly motivated Regional Sales Manager for our Texas Region. Based out of Texas and working under the direction of the Arizona Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, the TX Regional Sales Manager actively generates sales revenue according to plan targets, manages relationships, maximizes productivity, and services accounts of existing & prospective customers in the assigned sales territory. Candidate must have the ability to meet aggressive sales targets (traveling as required); have 3-5 years previous sales experience in the hospitality industry; possess the ability to work independently without direct supervision as part of a cohesive, professional team; must have critical thinking skills and exercise good judgment. Individual must possess strong computer skills including the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Professional contacts with TX sales territory is a strong plus. Previous experience with Delphi or Opera PMS is a plus.
 

 

Williams Location

Grand Canyon Railway Hotel:


Guest Room Attendants/Housekeepers: FT
This is a full-time position at the GCR Hotel. Duties include, but are not limited to: cleaning and stocking hotel rooms. Applicants must be dependable, hardworking with the ability to push housekeeping cart, and display good work ethics. Applicants must be available to work days, weekends, and holidays.

Bell Attendant: 1-PT
This position requires that the employee be able to work as early as 6 a.m. or a later shift that may run until 11 p.m. Applicants must be reliable, have good communication skills, and enjoy working with the public. Aside from Bell Staff duties, applicant is responsible for some other housekeeping duties. These may include, but are not limited to: restocking supplies, transport of laundry carts and attending to the common areas of the hotel. Applicants must be physically able to lift up to 50 lb suitcases; load them onto a rolling cart and be available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays. 

 

Environmental Health and Safety:

Security Guard: 1-FT
Under direction of Risk Manager, this position is full-time and is responsible for insuring the safety and security of all Grand Canyon Railway properties by conducting regular inspections of all facilities; documenting the night’s incidences and informing the Risk Manager and Manager on Duty. The applicant must be able to calmly deal with medical, fire, security and safety situations. Applicant must possess excellent written, verbal, and problem solving skills; plus ability to interact effectively and in a non-confrontational manner with guests, employees and other designated officials. Applicant must: have a clear/valid Arizona driver’s license; possess evidence of current training in First Aid, CPR and AED or become certified within 60 days of hire. Previous experience in security and/or law enforcement helpful.

 

Grand Canyon Railway Operations/Depot: 

AM CARMAN: FT
The AM Carman is responsible for making inspections, running repairs and servicing of the GCR in-service passenger cars. The AM Carman works the morning hours, without immediate supervision and may be involved in the assembly and makeup of trains following established rules and procedures. Good judgment, good communication skills, and the ability to understand written and oral instructions are required. The ability to communicate face-to-face and via hand held radio is a must. Knowledge of general construction trades such as; plumbing, electrical; carpentry and mechanical skills are a plus. This position is contingent upon the successful completion of GCOR class.  A valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License is required.
Brakeman: PT
The Brakeman assists the Conductor with safe and efficient train operations including passenger and on board staff safety. The Brakeman is responsible for safely and efficiently conducting transportation on the company’s rail system and properly representing the company to our passengers and public. Applicant must; be able to communicate clearly and effectively face to face and via hand held radio to all levels of staff or passengers; be able to use good judgment when making decisions regarding passenger safety, equipment, etc.; be able to work safely with little or no direct supervision; be able to read and comprehend printed and written material, including equipment operating instructions, safety and first aid instructions, MSDS sheets and manufacturers manuals; be able to add, subtract, multiply or divide whole numbers, fractions, or decimals. This position is contingent upon the ability to successfully complete GCOR class. Requires a valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License.

Certified WelderI: FT
This is a full-time position in the Railroad Mechanical Operations Department. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: read and interpret blueprints, working drawings and sketches, performing accurate math calculations and layout, and requires the ability to weld metal using stick, MIG, TIG, and cutting with torch or plasma. Applicant must possess at least a 3G welding certification and be able to complete a 5G welding test for certification, which includes the ability to demonstrate excellent fabrication skills and welds that meet appearance standards. A valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License is required. Previous (4) years working experience is preferred.

Ticket Agent: PT
Under direction of the Ticketing Supervisor, the Ticketing Agent is responsible for ensuring all daily functions are completed at the Ticket Counter. Duties include but not limited to: ensuring accurate batching of train tickets, confirming reservations, answering phones, issuing and explaining train tickets to passengers. This position requires good judgment skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner. Applicant must; have a good working knowledge of windows based software; have good organizational skills; be a strong team player with good communication skills; be able to effectively handle stressful situations in a public setting; possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally, effectively, clearly, face-to-face, and in written communication. Previous (2) years customer service experience in a hospitality industry; and bilingual skills are a plus.  

 

Food & Beverage Dept:

Restaurant Manager:FT
This position oversees FOH operation of Grand Depot Café, Spenser’s Pub, Java Crossing & Java on the Platform. This is a split between floor supervision and administrative work. Primary function is floor supervision that requires coordination between staffing and business levels assisting where necessary to accommodate guest service. Desired candidate will possess; thorough knowledge of food and beverage service, (3) years previous experience in food service management, working knowledge of Word & Excel software programs, leadership and communicative skills to effectively motivate staff. Certification by Serv-Safe, County Health Department & TIPS Certification is requred within 90 days of hire. Competetive wages, benefits elgible.
Assistant Kitchen Manager: FT

This is a full-time assistant kitchen management position. The primary function of this position is the overall efficient operation of the Grand Depot Café and Spenser’s kitchens and all banquet functions. This position must divide their time between insuring the guest experience is first and foremost, cook line operations, developing recipes, active line cooking, labor management, product storage HACCP and FIFO guidelines are followed. Desire Qualifications: Two (2) years Sous chef or head chef in a high volume buffet setting with action stations or institutional establishment; ability to train kitchen personnel in all areas of operation; written and verbal communication skills to effectively motivate the staff to the expected Xanterra’s standard of excellence in guest service; experience in menu development, food production records, scheduling and inventory/cost controls; experience in MS Word and Excel. This position requires shift flexibility including working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position requires a valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License. Culinary Service Manager: FT
This is a full-time kitchen management position. This position is responsible for the overall efficient shift operation of the Grand Depot Café kitchen, Spenser’s Lounge kitchen, and all banquet functions. Desired Qualifications: Three (3) years supervisory or lead cook experience in high volume ala carte dining or an institutional establishment; ability to train kitchen personnel in all areas of operation; written and verbal communication skills; experience in menu development, food production records, scheduling and inventory/cost controls; experience in MS Word and Excel. This position requires shift flexibility including working days, nights, weekends, and holidays. This position requires a valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License.

Cook 2: FT
This is a full-time, mid-level cook position in the Grand Depot Cafe. Previous three (3) years experience as a cook in high volume ala carte dining or institutional cooking experience preferred. Applicants should have basic knife skills and be knowledgeable in food service sanitation. Applicants must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Cook 3: FT
This is a full-time, mid-level cook position in Spenser’s Bar. Prepare menu/recipe items to Spenser’s standards and specifications. Applicants should have basic knife skills and be knowledgeable in food service sanitation. Previous 2 years experience as a cook in a high volume ala carte dining or institutional cooking experience preferred. Applicants must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and holiday
Cook4: 2-FT
This is a full-time entry-level cooking position in the Grand Depot Cafe. Previous one (1) year or less experience as a cook in fast food industry or high volume ala carte dining or institutional cooking experience preferred. Applicants should have basic knife skills and be knowledgeable in food service sanitation. Applicants must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Server: PT
This is a part-time position at Spenser’s. Applicants must be available to work afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays. The food service at Spenser’s is menu order. The Server takes beverage and meal orders, including alcoholic beverages, and delivers them to the guests, as well as filling other guest dining requests. Applicant must be able to multi-task; be able to lift and carry tray of beverages/plates at shoulder height. Prefer applicants to be over 21 with previous alcohol servicing experience. 
 

Facilities Maintenance Department:

Maintenance Engineer III:1- FT & 1-FT Seasonal

Applicants must be available to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. One-year experience in general maintenance or in trades such as electrical, plumbing or carpentry is preferred. Maintenance personnel maintain the roofing, plumbing, mechanical, environmental and electrical systems. Additional duties include construction projects, painting, custodial functions and baggage handling. Personnel drive motor vehicles and motorized specialty equipment such as mowers, sweepers and electric service vehicles. This position also requires the use of hand tools, power tools and safety equipment. Position requires a valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License to be able to comply with the Xanterra/GCR Company Vehicle Policy.
