Concert Fête de la MusiqueFrench Musical Day
Fête de la Musique For the past 30 years, June in France has been characterized by hundreds of amateur and professional musicians invading public spaces across the country to share their music. From jazz to electro, the Fête de la Musique has evolved past the point of local festival to become a nationwide tribute to all genres of music.
In the spirit of this phenomenal celebration, the Alliance Française is hosting a D.C. Fête de la Musique for the fifth year in a row. For the first time, the festival will take place offsite in order to accommodate the increasing crowd. Malmaison, the rough-around-the-edges location and pioneer in urban development in Georgetown, mingled with the artistic, musical atmosphere will provide a unique arena for local musical talent to show off their skills to a limitless public right on the banks of the Potomac.
If you are interested in registering to participate as an individual or as a band, please send names, band bio, and musical samples to marine.cornuet@francedc.org. Malmaison // 3401 Water Street, NW Free to the public
