Apprenticeship Programme
The Miale Apprenticeship Programme aims to provide all of our students with a good skill level in fashion and jewellery making and the ability to utilise these skills either running their own small business or working for an organisation such as Johari Designs Ltd.
The young people entering the Apprenticeship Programme are generally from a vulnerable background with insufficient education to be self-reliant. Rather than face a bleak future with no prospects they can come to the Apprenticeship Centre where we help them learn life-enhancing skills which can lead to ongoing employment.
We deliver an 18 month curriculum in fashion and jewellery making skills. In addition to this we provide basic business and life skills training. Meals are also provided along with social care and a montly stipend. Our aim is for at least 90% of the programme participants to be self-reliant by the time they have completed the course and found employment.

Tracy Wanjera says, "At the Apprenticeship Centre, I have learnt different ways of making jewellery and even come up with my own designs. The skills that I have acquired are a great investment that I can use in the future. I have been supporting myself and also send money home from what I earn"'.
