PARSIPPANY, NJ, JUNE 11, 2012 - DRS Technologies, Inc., a Finmeccanica Company, announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Tawazun Holding’s NIMR Automotive to collaborate on the advancement of NIMR Automotive’s world class line of tactical wheeled vehicles.
DRS Technologies is a leading provider in the field of advanced vehicle architectures with over 400,000 fielded systems in U.S. military tactical and combat vehicles and many international defence forces. DRS has significant capability in delivering vehicle digitization solutions and provides a skill set that is complementary to NIMR Automotive’s vehicle design, development and production capabilities.

By integrating DRS Technologies’ advanced vehicle electronics and electro-optics systems into its vehicles, NIMR Automotive will expand and improve its current C4ISR capabilities. The collaboration is focused on ensuring that the NIMR Tactical Wheeled Vehicle range is equipped to deliver effective C4ISR solutions in such areas as Local Situational Awareness, vehicle and tactical communications, health and usage monitoring and battle management.
Central to the DRS vehicle architecture is C4InSight™ which delivers an integrated C4ISR management system that enables commanders and platform operators to control and interface with sensors, communication equipment, mission command applications, navigational devices, and platform vetronics from any workstation on the platform.
In addition, via the tactical network, all of the voice, video, and data from these platform devices can be interconnected with adjacent platforms and remote command posts, including those of coalition partners.
The DRS electronics architecture will allow NIMR Automotive to effectively address the challenges of reducing the size, weight and power (SWaP) of the hardware required, creating a far better environment for the vehicle crews.

On June 11th through the 15th, DRS and NIMR Automotive will be presenting both the NIMR vehicle and DRS’ C4InSight flexible architecture on a 6x6 variant of the NIMR at the Eurosatory International Exhibition in Paris, France at the Tawazun Holding booth located in Hall 6 J 82.
