Committed to improving driver comfort and performance in Motorsport and other Powersport/ExtremeSports applications. REAL’s Vaughan Cartwright has experience in Formula One over the past 15 years. It was important that as REAL continues to innovate and research new materials and driver seating systems; confidence and success in Formula One was imperative. We have also produced and delivered seat inserts for customers who compete in A1GP, BTCC, ChampCar, GP2, F3, Formula Ford, Formula Renault, IRL, Le Mans, Radical and Caterham.

Founded by Vaughan Cartwright, former McLaren F1 No:1 mechanic for Mika Hakkinen during his World Championship years and having worked with other drivers including David Coulthard, Jacques Villeneuve, Jenson Button, Olivier Panis, Alexander Wurz, Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson, Real operates to a very high standard of product and service. Having worked directly in motorsport for over 20 years, we understand the industry and know what is expected. Since establishing ourselves in some of the sports toughest environments, we now look to reach further into other forms and applications within the sport, and believe that starting from Karting, we can offer a solution to meet each category of racing. Motorsport champions innovation; we believe wholeheartedly in always exploring new solutions, and technologies.

Vaughan’s career in Motorsport started in his native New Zealand and really got on track in 91 with Paul Radisich Motorsport in Atlantics; this extended to working with RALT in the USA again in Atlantics. It wasn’t only ‘open-wheel’ racing – Touring Cars with Dick Johnson and Greg Murphy followed before graduating to V8 Supercars in 95 with Wayne Gardner. 1997 saw Vaughan join the McLaren Formula One Team and winning years with two World Championships as #1 Mechanic until 2001 switching to the Honda Formula One operation. From F1 to A1 – Vaughan joins Team Monaco in 08 for A1′s last season then straight into F2 with Jonathan Palmer’s Motorsport Vision organisation. Although a Kiwi through-and-through Vaughan has put roots down in the UK with family here and living in rural Royal Berkshire; now focussed on building the business with the aim of becoming recognised as the best in the business for performance seats and associated products.
