Earn A Computer thru the

"Every Home A Classroom" TM
(Via Schools)

"Every Home A Classroom" TM (via Schools) is a program administered through the individual schools by which families of school aged children can qualify for a free computer system.  This program is currently available to all schools in Nevada.  ComputerCorps is in the process of developing programs with other states and is always seeking new relationships.

The current requirements for families (with school aged children) that want to participant in this program are as follows:
1.  There is currently no working computer in the household.
2.  There is a financial need.
3.  They have been residents of the community for 6 months.
4.  Members of the family (10 years or older) that receive a computer must must contribute a combined total of 40 hours of community service at the school or organization of their choice..

ComputerCorps has a fantastic "Every-Home-A-Classroom" TM Computer Store and Distribution Center.   

The Carson City, Nevada facility is located at the ComputerCorps Technology Learning Center (TLC) at 550 Mallory Way, Carson City, NV 89701. 

The Reno, Nevada facility is located at the ComputerCorps Technology Learning Center (TLC) at 3595 Airway Drive #407, Reno, NV 89511. 

Winter and Spring store hours are: Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Get a high-speed, low-cost computer for your family, a friend or someone in need.  Complete Service is available for businesses and other non-profit organizations at our Carson City facility.  Training Classes & Programs are available for kids from the ages of 9 to 90 years old.  Volunteers, Teachers and Donations are Needed.

Proceeds from our Computer Store help support projects that bring the benefits of computer technology and training to under-served families.

It's a "win-win" situation. By volunteering you help your community, learn about computers and get a Windows Internet ready Computer System that includes a Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, Soundcard, CD-Rom, and Software.

Volunteer Hours are Tuesday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Special Projects and Virtual Volunteers can be scheduled at other days and times.

Build and Take Home Your Own Computer thru the
"Every Home A Classroom" TM TechCamp
 2K12 (2012)

The ComputerCorps "Every-Home-A-Classroom" TM TechCamp is an annual summer program for youth 10-15 years old.   For the past 11 years, this 2-week program gives kids the opportunity to learn about computer recycling, testing and assembly while building a computer system they can take home or give to a needy family at the end of camp.  

This year, up to five separate two-week camps will be offered throughout the summer in Carson City, NV with each camp consisting of up to 18 kids. Daily activities include learning, doing and having fun sessions taking place on Monday thru Friday for 3 hours a day (1:30 to 4:30 pm).

The Starting Dates for the "Every Home A Classroom" TechCamp 2K12 (2012) are:

   TechCamp Alpha  --    Jun 11,12,13,124,15 - Jun 18,19,20,21,22    ( O P E N   for Registration )
   TechCamp Bravo --     Jul 9,10,11,12,13 - Jul 16,17,18,19,20          ( O P E N   for Registration)
   TechCamp Charlie  --  Jul 23,24,25,26,27 - Jul 30,31 Aug 1,2,3     ( O P E N  for Registration )
   TechCamp Delta  --     Aug 6,7,8,9,10 - Aug 13,14,15,16,17           ( C L O S E D  for Registration )

This year the tuition has been reduced for the TechCamp and is $350. This includes all materials, tools, snacks, TechCamp shirts and a 2 Gigahertz+ computer system which the student builds during the camp. 

Scholarships:  Low-income families are encouraged to apply as some scholarships are available from businesses and service organizations.

Parents are encouraged to participate as counselors and teachers and adult volunteers are always welcome to participate.
