Want To Be An Engineer?

spacer

Make your dreams of being an engineer of an historic steam locomotive come true. The Museum's Your Hand Is On The Throttle program is now open for reservations. In fact there is one slot open during the Memorial Day weekend (see the schedule). To make reservations for the coming season or for more information, contact the Museum at (775) 687-6953.

Be a Partner in History

Support the museum

spacer Have you ever walked in front of the Interpretive Center and looked down at the brick walkway? If you have, you've seen a tribute to those who supported this museum or just loved trains. What better way to honor someone who played a role in railroad history, is a railfan, or is just caught up by the romance of the rails?

Buy a commemorative brick to honor a loved one and pass the story of the railroad on to future generations.

Mark Your Calendars

The2012 Carson City Rendezvous is scheduled for June 8-10, 2012 at Mills Park. The organizers of the 2011 Rendezvous were so impressed with our living history exhibit, that they invited us back. It will be planned, created and staffed by the Youth Volunteers – Cristol Greer, Corby Jahn, Kevin Owens – and the Program's supervisors – Chris MacMahon and Matt Digangi –. They will stage a track laying camp where guests may operate our handcar and to learn the hard work of laying track by moving ties, picking up rail and hitting spikes. Put the weekend on your calendars and come and see us at Mills Park. For a preview, see last year's camp in our photo gallery.
